Emmett’s Ale House

Downers Grove, IL and Palatine, IL

Migrations, Inc. worked with Emmett’s Tavern and Brewing Company on two key expansions for this Chicago-area restaurant group.

Emmett's Ale House Downers Grove

The first project, in Downers Grove, involved transforming an existing large micro-brewery operation into a smaller facility to create office space above. Extensive structural work was required to maintain the integrity of key architectural details. Many finishes, including marble and wood floors as well as exposed interior brick walls, were retained, so new lighting, furnishings, window treatments and colors needed to coordinate well.

Emmett's Ale House Palatine

For the second project, in Palatine, Emmett’s became the first-floor tenant of a brand new mixed-use building adjacent to the train station. Working with one of the owners, Andrew Burns, Migrations, Inc. set out to create an interior with a personality of its own while maintaining some of the character from its sister restaurant. Many of the same furniture and lighting manufacturers were used, while a whole new color palette was created.
